Piriformus Syndrome

Piriformus syndrome is an entrapment neuropathy that presents as pain, numbness, paresthesias (tingling), and associated weakness in the distribution of the sciatic nerve.

Piriformus syndrome is caused by compression of the sciatic nerve by the piriformus muscle as it passes through the sciatic notch.

Coccydynia is a common pain syndrome that is characterized by pain localized to the coccyx (tailbone) that radiates into the lower sacrum and perineum.
